Health Insurance

During your 10-day Taglit-Birthright Israel trip, you are required to have your own health insurance policy. Basic insurance covers emergency conditions on the ground, but does NOT cover any pre-existing medical condition, alcohol related injuries, follow-up treatment or expenses after return to the United StatesIt is mandatory for every participant on all Taglit –Birthright Israel trips to have their own extended health insurance. If you are not insured on your own or if your local insurance policy does not cover you in Israel, then you need to arrange for a proper insurance policy. Additionally, you will be required to provide us with the insurance policy details, including their contact in cases of emergencies in Israel, prior to your departure. Most people are aware of the benefits of health insurance; however, you also need to consider travel insurance - this can cover the cost of lost/stolen baggage, cameras, ipods, etc. In addition, if you are purchasing a connecting flight, this may cover your costs should your flight be cancelled or delayed due to bad weather.

The easiest solution: is to purchase travel insurance through an Israeli company. This is to ensure immediate assistance and 24 hour contact in Israel in case of need.
