Travel & Health Insurance
According toTaglit-Birthright Israel rules, you are required to have your own Health Insurance Policy which covers pre-existing conditions AND provides coverage in Israel. You will be required to provide us with documentation evidencing this Insurance Policy, including the Insurer's contact information in cases of emergencies in Israel, prior to your departure.
Please be advised that Sachlav provides you with a basic travelers health insurance policy during your 10 day trip. This insurance covers emergency conditions on the ground, but will NOT cover any pre-existing medical conditions, alcohol related injuries, follow-up treatment or expenses after return to the United States.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
It is mandatory for every participant on all Taglit-Birthright Israel trips to have their own extended health insurance policy as outlined above. If you do not hold such a policy which covers pre-existing conditions AND is valid in Israel, you will need to arrange for one. Please see below our highly recommended Travel and Health Insurance offered by Hillit, an independent provider, whose policy provides fully comprehensive cover including loss of lugage and personal belongings, cancelled flights, pre-existing conditions, severe injuries, etc.
