Passport and Travel Documents

 

General Information

An emailed picture / scanned copy of the picture page of your passport / travel document must be submitted to the Sachlav office immediately upon accepting your flight offer. Failure to do so may result in your flight allocation being withdrawn.


Please be sure that the name that you put on your online application is exactly as it appears on your passport. Please also check the expiry date as your passport will need to be valid for at least six months from the date of departure to Israel.

Obtaining a new passport or renewing an expired passport

Participants who need to order or renew a passport should begin the process immediately. This process can take up to 6 weeks. Please visit the Department of State's Passport Services and Information site which also has a list of local passport agencies. Expedited processing may be available for an additional fee. For more information enquire at your local passport agency.

US Passport Holders   (US travel documents not included)

Participants traveling to Israel on a US passport do not need a Visa to enter Israel.

What you need to send us:

  • Copy of the picture page of your passport (deadline: upon confirming your flight offer)
     

Failure to provide any of above by the deadline stated, may result in your immediate removal from the trip.

 

Non-US Passport Holders

Please check which category you fall under and read the requirements extremely carefully.

 

US Travel Document Holders:

Will NEED a visa for entry into Israel (see below for information regarding obtaining a visa)

What you need to send us:

  • Copy of the picture page of your travel document (deadline: upon confirming your flight offer)
  • Copy of your visa (deadline: we need to see a copy of this 1 month before your trip departs)
     

Failure to provide any of the above by the deadline dates stated, may result in your immediate removal from the trip.

Other Passport Holders:

For those who require a visa for entry please read below.

What you need to send us:

  • Copy of the picture page of your foreign passport (deadline: upon confirming your flight offer)
  • Copy of your Green Card (deadline: upon confirming your flight offer)
  • Copy of your Visa (deadline: we need to see a copy of this 1 month before your trip departs)
     

Failure to provide any of the above, by the deadline dates stated, may result in your immediate removal from the trip.

Israeli Passport Holders

If at any time throughout your life you held / or currently hold an Israeli passport, you will need to bring your Israeli passport along with your US Passport or other travel documents when departing from the US . You will also need to bring your Army Exemption Papers signed by the Consulate. This passport MUST be valid for up to 2 months after your departure date.
What you need to send us:

  • Copy of the picture page of your valid Israeli passport (deadline: upon confirming your flight offer)
  • Copy of the picture page of proof of USA residence either an American Passport or Green Card (deadline: upon confirming your flight offer)
  • Signed Army Exemption Papers (deadline: we need to see a copy of this 1 month before your trip departs) We encourage you to begin this process immediately, as it may take 6-8 weeks to complete. Your flight assignment may be compromised if you do not obtain these papers prior to departure
     


Obtaining a Visa to Israel

To obtain a visa for entry into Israel, you must apply in person at the nearest Israeli consulate. Please note that processing time can take up to 2 weeks.  To find information on your local Israeli Embassy please click here.
