Passport Info & Travel Docs

General Passport Information

All applicants must upload a copy of the picture page of their passport into their Birthright Israel application or into the Birthright Mobile App. The passport must be valid for at least six (6) months after the trip, or the airlines will not issue a ticket. Should we not receive your passport within 45 days before your trip departs, you risk being removed from the trip and your deposit being forfeited.

Please be sure that the name that you put on your online Birthright Israel application is exactly as it appears on your passport. If it is different, even by one letter, please let our office know immediately. Having the names on your application and passport mismatched can result in your not being able to board the flight and/or a financial penalty from the airline.

You will also need to bring your Army Exemption Papers signed by the Consulate. This passport MUST be valid for up to 2 months after your departure date.

Non US Passport Holders

If you are a non US passport holder, you will be required to submit your respective passport together with either a green card or valid US travel document. You must also review our visa requirements for entry into Israel (below) to determine whether or not you need a visa. Additionally, if your flight has a connection, please review our section below on visa requirements for connecting flights.
