Join like-minded people this season for the complete Birthright Israel trip experience, along with additional Israeli LGBTQ oriented activities. Led by members of the LGBTQ community, the trip covers all the same sites and activities as our flagship “Israel Explore” itinerary, while introducing you to the Israeli LGBTQ community, and their experiences. It’s ultimate introduction to Israel, with maximum exposure to the best that Israel, and its human landscape, have to offer. You will taste the culture, embrace the adventure, discover more of your Jewish heritage, and meet with organizations at the forefront of the LGBTQ community in Israel.

SAMPLE ITINERARY |  ISRAEL RAINBOW LGBTQ

day 1 arrive frame
DAY 1: LAND IN ISRAEL

Hit the road running! Travel to Ben Shemen Forest for a welcoming session, before driving to the greenest part of Israel. Once in the Galil, stop at Mount Bental to catch a view of Syria & Lebanon from an old IDF military bunker.

DAY 2: OLD CITIES & ADVENTURE

Start the day with an adrenaline boost. Put on your life jacket, and head off to the Jordan River for some kayaking. Explore the narrow alleyways of the ancient city of Safed, one of Israel’s 3 holiest cities. Get a glimpse into the roots of Kabbalah and experience a traditional Shabbat experience, together with a festive meal.

DAY 3: SHABBAT IN SAFED

Chill and take in the special Shabbat atmosphere… After enjoying a morning  Shabbat feast, we’ll gather for a group activity, before setting out to make the most of some free time to relax and explore. Once back at the hotel we’ll meet up with Liron Savyon for an Israel Update, that will shed some light on the political and social dynamics in Israel.


DAY 9 FRAME
DAY 4: CITY LIFE

Tour Tel Aviv and get some souvenir shopping done at the popular Carmel Market. Meet members of the TLV’s lgbtq community, and prepare for a night out in some of the city’s most popular clubs.


ARRIVE IN FRAMEDAY 5: LGBTQ ISRAEL

Start the day by meeting up with the group of Israeli soliders who will be joining you for the next few days of the trip. Take a tour of Tel Aviv’s famous graffiti in Florentin. Stand in the exact place where the State of Israel was declared at Independence Hall. Visit the Carmel Market and enjoy some free time for lunch. Get an introduction to Israel as the Start Up nation through an activity with Start IL. After dinner enjoy an interesting presentation into the lgbt community’s contribution to Israel’s economy and development.

DAY 6: DESERT LIFE

Drive to Sderot and see a safe, missile-proof playground for the children who live in the South. Get an introduction to Israel’s drag scene at the Drag School, before visiting the Salad Trail for a tasting tour and a look into how Israeli innovation has turned the desert into some of the world’s most fertile land. Continue on to Kfar Ha Nokdim for a night of Bedouin hospitality and entertainment. Enjoy a night under the stars and a delicious traditional dinner in your Bedouin camp.


day 4 framedDAY 7: TASTE OF TRADITION

Explore the Old City of Jerusalem with a tour of the Jewish Quarter and the City of David. Taste your way through the famous Machane Yehuda food market. Get spiritual with a unique Shabbat service at the Western Wall, before enjoying a delicious Friday night meal with your group.

DAY 8: MASADA AND MUD PIES

After breakfast at the Bedouin camp, start the day with a bumpy ride across the desert on camel-back. Take a hike up Mount Masada, the ancient mountain fortress, to explore these incredible ruins and enjoy a breathtaking view over the Dead Sea. Get your adrenaline pumping by trying out some rappelling, before coating yourself in the mineral- rich mud of the Dead Sea and floating in its salty waters. In the evening, try something new, with a fun acrobalance class.

DAY 9: HEROES THEN & NOW

Visit Yad Vashem Holocaust museum & meet a survivor. Head up to Mount Hertzl – Israel’s largest military cemetery. Bid farewell to your peer group soldiers and finish the day at the home of the Sachlav | IsraelontheHouse CEO for a BBQ.

DAY 10:  CHILL TIME & NIGHTLIFE

Enjoy a relaxed morning with your group, and delicious meal before a group activity and tour the Israel Museum. Once Shabbat is over, and we’ve had our closing session, we’ll make our way back to Tel Aviv for a last opportunity to get out and enjoy Israel’s buzzing nightlife.
