Staff A Trip

Looking to staff a Birthright Israel trip with Sachlav: Israel On The House?

Marketing director-staff

Staffing a Birthright Israel trip is a ton of fun, but also comes with a number of responsibilities.  Ready to make a difference while sharing the amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience of a Birthright Israel trip? Read on!

General Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Israel experience beyond participation in a Birthright Israel Trip
  • Leadership skills and experience
  • Familiarity with Jewish life and traditions

What’s the catch?

In addition to participating in the trip, you will have a number of responsibilities while staffing a trip. These include:

  • Contacting participants before the trip to introduce yourself.
  • Creating excitement through the provided WhatsApp and Facebook Groups.
  • Arrive at the airport prior to the participants and check everyone in via the Birthright App
  • Ensure everyone arrives at the gate and boards the plane as a group.
  • Support the Tour Guide and/or other program staff in Israel.
  • Serve as a dugma or role model for the participants
  • Assist in group and discussion facilitation throughout the program
  • Ensure the program runs smoothly–everyone’s on the bus, etc.

These positions are offered on a volunteer basis, however many program costs are included. Including:

  • Round trip airfare from the departure airport
  • Israeli SIM card/cell phone plan (phone not included!).
  • Health Insurance.
  • Program activities, travel, admission fees, two meals a day and lodging.
  • Daily meal stipend for lunch.

As a reminder, IsraelOnTheHouse does not cover or subsidise travel to/from the departure airport.

There is a possibility to extend your trip in Israel, should you desire to do so.

Note: Trip dates are subject to final approval and ticketing, and are subject to changes. Due to the incredible interest in staffing trips and other logistical considerations, it is not possible to place everyone on a trip–even if they meet all the eligibility requirements.

While we do our best to place as many applicants as we can, we ask for your understanding and patience, and will do our best to keep you updated on your application progress.

Those selected as staff are subject to a mandatory training session.
